Fog Devils Announce East Side Mario's Scholastic Players of the Month

The St. John's Fog Devils announced today the winners of the East Side Mario's Scholastic Player of the Month Award.
Each month, the hockey club will recognize the outstanding school achievements of one of its players through an on-ice ceremony. The player will receive the monthly recognition as well as a $50 gift certificate from East Side Mario's. The first presentation took place tonight where the Scholastic winners for September, October and November were announced.

Pier-Alexandre Poulin
Pier Alexandre Poulin is presently attending Memorial University and planning to major in Human Kinetics and Recreation. After successfully completing courses in both the winter and summer semesters with an overall "A" average he enrolled in two courses this semester and continues to be very successful and dedicated to his program.

Patrick O'Keefe
Patrick O' Keefe, a second year player, graduated from O'Donel High School in June. At the formal graduation ceremonies he was the winner of three scholarships from the school including the Brad Gushue Scholarship, the Knight's of Columbus Ladies Auxiliary, John Kent Division, Scholarship and the Fry Family Leadership Award. O'Keefe is currently enrolled in Memorial University in Business and HKR where he is exhibiting the same work ethic as he does on the ice.

Taylor MacDougall
Last Year Taylor McDougal attended school in New Brunswick and was an "A" student. While playing Major Junior Hockey this year he has maintained a superior average and at the same time produced a very solid hockey performance. MacDougal was recognized as one of Gonzaga's Students of the Month.
The Fog Devils next home action is this Wednesday when the club hosts the Cape Breton Screaming Eagles. Tickets for this game are available at the Mile One Stadium Box Office. The St. John's Fog Devils are a member of the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League and are one of 59 member clubs of the Canadian Hockey League.
