
Flyers to Host 70's Night and Black History Month Celebration

FORT WORTH, Texas, February 1, 2007 - The Fort Worth Flyers will celebrate 70's Night on Friday, February 2 and host a Black History Month Celebration on Saturday, February 3 as the team takes on the Arkansas RimRockers and Albuquerque Thunderbirds, respectively, in back to back home games at the Fort Worth Convention Center.
The Flyers tip off 70's Night at 7 p.m. on Friday evening. Fans are encouraged to wear their 70's attire, and throughout the game the crowd can enjoy various samplings of their favorite 70's music. In addition, the first 500 fans in attendance will receive a Flyers t-shirt courtesy of Medical Center of Arlington.
On Saturday, the Flyers will pay tribute to the African-American heritage and commemorate Black History Month. The national anthem will be performed by Stephanie Sterling of the Jubilee Theatre, and popular local poet Stormy, also a performer with the Jubilee Theatre, will recite a special poem for the occasion.
Doors to "The Hangar", as fans have dubbed the Flyers' home arena, will open at 6 p.m. on Friday and noon on Saturday. Fans at both games will be entertained by performances by the FlyGirls and Big Shot, the team's high-flying mascot powered by Digicom. Kids can also enjoy free admission to the kids zone until the third quarter; the area includes interactive inflatables and various activities fun for kids of all ages. All fans can take part in a postgame autograph session with select Flyers players and dance team members.
Free parking is available in Sundance Square and throughout downtown Fort Worth. Individual game ticket prices begin at $10, and fans can take advantage of a special buy one get one free ticket special for all 300-level seats; the promotion will be available for all games in February.
