Schaumburg Flyers News Release
The Schaumburg Flyers more than made up for the loss the suffered at the hands of the host Calgary Vipers on Friday, by exploding at the plate for a combined 20 runs, on 24 hits, both season highs for the Flyers, this afternoon at Calgary.
Flyers starter Kenny Durost, completely halted the Vipers offense for seven innings, improving to 2-1 with today's win. Durost threw seven complete innings allowing only one run on eight hits, while striking out nine Vipers batters, which equals his season high.
The Flyers run began in the third inning, and they never looked back.
Eric Cole had another exciting day going 5-6 at the plate, with two RBI and four runs scored. Nelson Gord threw in another great performance as well, going 4-7 with four RBI and four runs scored.
The Flyers took the series from the Vipers 2-1 at Calgary. The Flyer travel to Edmonton for a three game series tomorrow, before heading back to the Chicagoland area for a three game series with local rivals, the Joliet Jackhammers, in Joliet.
