Orange County Flyers News Release

The Orange County Flyers' recipe for success seems to involve jumping out to a big lead before holding on late.

Mark Okano homered to lead of the Orange County 1st and the Flyers (26-13) never looked back as they defeated the St. George Road Runners (18-25) _____ in the first game of a double header Friday night at Goodwin Field.

Andre Simpson held the Road Runners in check for five innings as he picked up his league leading 8th win of the season, improving to 8-2 on the year.

The Flyers offense was led by the top of the order as Mark Okano, David Bacani, and Jermy Acey all scored multiple runs and Patrick Breen drove in three runs.

Aaron Wilson took all of the assault on the mound for St. George as he gave up all 11 runs as he was handed the loss to drop to 0-3 in the complete game effort.

The teams prepared to meet in the second game of the double header a half hour later.
