Flyers Fall to Armada

Long Beach scored three runs in the 8th inning in a come from behind win for the Armada over the Flyers at Goodwin Field....

The Flyers led the Armada 4-3 through seven innings, but RF Aaron Davis committed the team's third error in the 8th inning to pave the way for the game-winning rally.

In his debut performance, RP Jason Howerton gave up three consecutive hits with one out. With runners at first and second, Jorge Araiza blooped a base hit to right that got past Davis and rolled to the wall scoring two runs.

The Flyers took a 4-3 lead in the 7th inning after Dave Bacani led off with a triple and Rich Pohle drove him home.

The Flyers led 3-0 through four innings behind two big hits from Peanut Williams.

Mike Natale made a throwing error in the 5th inning, which led to a game-tying hit from Johnny Kaplan.

The Flyers fell to 0-1 in the second half and will now head to Long Beach for a three-game series. The first game will be Wednesday at 7:05 on KWRM 1370 AM and orangecountyflyers.com.
