Orange County Flyers News Release

The Flyers gave up a three-run lead and lost 7-6 to the Chico Outlaws in a game that determined the leader of the pack in the GBL.

The Outlaws leapfrogged the Flyers in the standings by a half game and stopped Orange County's 7-game win streak, while pushing their streak to eight straight wins.

The Flyers (14-7) came back from a 3-1 deficit when Peanut Williams slammed a three-run homerun to left in the 5th inning. Scott Goodman followed with his team-leading fourth homerun to go back-to-back.

The Flyers led 6-3 when Chico used five well placed hits in the 7th inning off RP Gary Gallegos and Nick Casanova to take a 7-6 advantage.

Former Flyer Todd Gelatka came through with his league leading seventh save to close it in the 9th inning.

Reed Dickert and the Flyers will look to retake first place Friday night at 7:05 p.m. at Nettleton Stadium in Chico. All the action can be heard on KWRM 1370 AM and orangecountyflyers.com .
