June 1, 2008 - Golden Baseball League (GBL)
Orange County Flyers News Release
The Yuma Scorpions finished off a series win against the Orange County Flyers by holding on to win 7-6 Saturday night at Desert Sun Stadium.
Dave Bacani hit a 2-Run homerun to pull the Flyers within one in the 9th inning, but the rally fell short as Neil Hayes earned his second save of the season. Evan White pitched four innings of shutout relief to win it for Yuma (7-1).
The Scorpions jumped on Flyers starter Zack Kalter for five runs in the first two innings and never surrendered the lead.
Buddy Morales and Patrick Breen each had three hits to aid the Flyers cause. Bobby Cramer made his Orange County debut by throwing 1.2 innings of perfect relief after Charles Merricks was ejected from the game.
The Flyers (4-3) will head to Chico for a three-game series starting Monday.
