Florida Flight News Release
Ahead through three quarters and much of the fourth, the Florida Flight was unable to sustain its lead and lost 116-112 to the Jacksonville Bluewaves at the Kissimmee Civic Center Tuesday night in the WBA season opener for both teams.
Mike Sturns led the way for the Bluewaves with 25 points and 8 rebounds. The Flight, meanwhile, was paced by 27 points from Willie Irick; and a double-double from Dwayne Foreman, who had 23 points and 10 assists. Irick also blocked a team-leading four shots.
Turnovers were the biggest problem for the Flight, as they committed 26 miscues against just 10 for Jacksonville.
Florida's next home game is May 20 against the defending WBA champion Gwinnett Majic.
