(Avalon Park, FL) - The visiting Heartland Prowl jumped out to an early 36-19 first-quarter lead and never looked back, defeating the Florida Flight 128-106 in the Flight's home opener at their new venue in Avalon Park (Orlando), FL.

The Flight were led by the combination of Ernest Jones and Garvin Gordon. Jones poured in a game-high 38 points, including five three-point field goals. He also added 10 rebounds and 5 assists. Gordon also topped the 30-point mark with 32 on 12-19 shooting. Gordon also pulled down a game high 12 rebounds.

The Flight had no answers for Jordan Prais, who shot a blistering 13-21 from the floor en route to a 37 point night. Former Flight player Derell Henderson also chipped in with 29 points and 10 rebounds for the Prowl.

"Coach Williams had the Prowl well prepared for the game," said Flight Coach Mark King. "We tried some different things to stop Prais and Henderson, but it proved to be ineffective overall. We'll make the appropriate adjustments and be ready for a rematch Friday at their place."

The Flight's next game is Friday evening, as they travel to Heartland for a rematch with the Prowl.

Their next home game is a day later when they take on the Jacksonville Bluewaves Saturday, May 21st. Tip-off time is 5:30pm at Avalon Middle School in Avalon Park.
