Florence Y'alls
Chillicothe, Ohio: The red hot Freedom came into last night's game in Chillicothe fresh off of a perfect homestand that included sweeps of Washington and Chillicothe. Unfortunately, success has often found it hard to travel on the road with the Freedom, and the trend continued last night.
Chillicothe never managed to score more than one run in an inning, but still pushed four across the board. The runs were mainly a result of the longball, Adrian Cantu and Travis Garcia each hit a homerun. Despite two-hit performances from Greg Stone and Joe Holland, the Freedom could not push a run across in the 4-0 loss. Chillicothe pitchers walked 11 Freedom batters, but the Florence offense just couldn't capitalize.
Game two of the short two-game series in Chillicothe is tonight, first pitch scheduled for 6:05. Nick Dunning (1-0) is fresh off of a solid start, he will get the call for the Freedom. You can listen to the action with Roger Redmon on 107.9 Class-X, or on the Freedom website. After tonight's game, Florence will head to another divisional foe, the Slippery Rock Sliders. The Freedom and Sliders will open up a two-game series Monday night at 7:05.
