Flight to hold special Halloween Draft Party at Humphrey\'s Bar & Grille

HUNTSVILLE, Ala., October 18, 2002 – Huntsville Flight Head Coach Ralph Lewis will look to add new faces to the Flight squad during the NBDL's 2002-2003 official player draft, Thursday, October 31, from 5:00- 8:00 p.m. The NBDL's second ever draft will take place at Humphrey's Bar & Grille, located at 109 Washington Street, part of the new Washington Square development in downtown Huntsville.

The NBDL draft will last twelve rounds. Lewis will draft from over 100 players who have been signed to NBDL contracts. In addition, selected players from NBA Training Camps will also be available for the NBDL draft.

Those in attendance at the NBDL/Flight Draft Party will have the chance to win great prizes including Flight Opening Night tickets (November 21), merchandise, food certificates from Washington Square Restaurants. In addition for all "trick or treaters" over 21, a special Halloween contest will take place during the NBDL/Flight draft party.

The NBDL, the NBA's minor league includes the Fayetteville Patriots (N.C.), North Charleston Lowgators (S.C.), Huntsville Flight (Ala.), Mobile Revelers (Ala.), Roanoke Dazzle (Va.), Columbus Riverdragons (Ga.), Greenville Groove (S.C.), and Asheville Altitude (N.C.). The league offers players the opportunity to develop their talent in a highly competitive atmosphere under the NBA's umbrella. Seventeen NBDL players and three coaches have moved up to the NBA since the start of the NBDL's inaugural season. Designed to help grow the sport of basketball both domestically and internationally, the NBDL serves as a source of on-court talent for the NBA's 29 teams and as a diverse human resources pool for the NBA and its teams by training employees in management, operations, public relations, sales and marketing positions in each NBDL city.
