Flight Partners With Companies To Begin Tickets For Kids Program New Year's Eve Game

HUNTSVILLE, Ala., December 26, 2002 â The Huntsville Flight are teaming up with Crestwood Medical Center, Sprite, Corr Wireless, Spalding Sports Worldwide, Inc. and BellSouth to start the "Flight Tickets For Kids" program. The program begins New Year's Eve (Tue., 12/31) as the Flight takes on Fayetteville at the Von Braun Center in a 7:30 p.m. contest.
This is an ESPN 2 televised contest and will be aired on the network later in the week.
"The Flight is excited about the opportunity to be able to host a safe alternative for New Year's Eve for teens, families and those looking for a unique New Year's Eve alternative," Huntsville Flight president Kellie Elliott said. "Many exciting things are planned that night as it will be a great night of family entertainment."
For that game, the first 500 kids 15 and under are admitted free, courtesy of these companies. Many exciting happenings will take place at the VBC on that night as it will be a safe and enjoyable alternative for a New Year's Eve celebration.
Along with inflatables and other activities for kids, several bands, in conjunction with the North Alabama Teen Connection, will also perform at the VBC beginning at 6:15 p.m. Those scheduled to appear include: Liquid Caravan, Victory Seven, Lampwick, Wifful, Drag Down First, Never the Less, Firewood and Crash Midnight.
"We are excited about the opportunity to hold our second annual Teen New Year's Eve celebration in conjunction with the Huntsville Flight game," Jane Dow, spokesperson for North Alabama Teen Connection said. "We look forward to providing area teens a fun evening of basketball followed by eight live bands in a safe and secure environment."
