Florida Flight News Release
(Orlando, FL) - The visiting Palm Beach Titans scored a hard- earned 105-100 victory over the Florida Flight in the Flight's regular-season Florida Basketball Association (FBA) opener at Avalon Middle School.
The game was close throughout. Tied after one quarter at 24, the Flight took a 52-45 halftime lead behind Adam Waldo, who scored 18 of his 24 points in the first 24 minutes.
The Titans came out focused in the third quarter, as they outscored the Flight 37-24 to take a six-point lead going into the final stanza.
Two free throws by Anthony Horne put the Titans up by three points in the final minute at 103-100. After the Flight's Greg St. Remy missed a three-point shot that would've tied the game, the Titans rebounded the miss and Carl Jenkins sank two free throws to seal the win.
Horne and Jenkins led the Titans (1-1) with 24 apiece, while Jerry Lormestore had 23. Jonathan Adamson had 17 and Greg St.
Remy had 15 for the Flight.
The Titans played without standout guard T.T. Hall, while the Flight were without big men Garvin Gordon and Kene Anusionwu.
Garvin is nursing an ankle injury, while Anusionwu is completing his last week of law school.
The two teams match up again May 19 in Palm Beach.
