Florida Flight News Release
(Orlando, FL) - Effective immediately, the Florida Flight appoints Herbert Polite as the new Director of Corporate Relations.
Polite fills a vacancy left by Andrew Haas. Haas relocated to his home state of Indiana before the start of the 2011 Flight season.
"Andy did a tremendous job establishing a corporate presence during our first year," said Flight President Mark King. "Finding someone able to meet the same level of excellence as Andy was difficult, but we are confident that Mr. Polite will meet and exceed those standards."
Polite, a member of the 2007 Atlantic Sun All-Academic Team while playing basketball at the University of North Florida (UNF), brings a diverse amount of sales and networking experience to the Flight. A fan favorite for his passionate play on the court, King sees Polite's same passion and work ethic translating into stronger, authentic relationships with present and future prospective partners throughout the Central Florida community.
"Chip understands what the Florida Flight is about," said King. "It's not just the basketball on the court. It's about the platform we are trying to create. His ability to communicate our team mission effectively will be essential to his duties as our new Director of Corporate Relations."
Polite's first order of business will be to garner a strong portfolio of community sponsors for the newly announced Jr. Flight Youth Basketball League kicking off in September of this year. His duties will also include building relationships with potential corporate sponsors and investors, searching for community development initiatives, and maintaining the relationships with our current Florida Flight sponsors.
"I am honored to be selected as the new Director of Corporate Operations," said Polite. "Mark has set very high standards of expectation for this team, and I'm looking forward to meeting those same expectations and establishing an even bigger presence in the corporate realm and in our community with the Florida Flight."
The Florida Flight are the 2011 Southern Division Champions and member team of the Continental Basketball League.
