
Fleming Tabbed Nebraska Danger Player of the Week

GRAND ISLAND, NE - Nebraska Danger quarterback Damien Fleming earned the Nebraska Danger Week 1 Offensive Player of the Week Award for an outstanding performance in his team's win over the Cedar Rapids Titans.
In a 44-31 win, Fleming tallied four total touchdowns, with two through the air and two on the ground. The first-year Danger quarterback completed 12 of 17 passes, throwing for 106 yards and two touchdowns. He also led the team in rushing, running 10 times for 56 yards and two touchdowns. Fleming's four total touchdowns tied for the league lead in Week 1.
Fleming's favorite targets in Friday's win proved to be Gregory Dent, Jr. and Eric Thomas. The two receivers combined for 11 receptions and two touchdowns. Dent reeled in six catches for 58 yards while Thomas tacked on five catches for 44 yards with each collecting a touchdown. The only other Danger player to catch a ball Friday was Kenzel Doe, who pulled in a four-yard reception.
Fleming outdueled opposing quarterback Jake Medlock of Cedar Rapids. While Medlock tied Fleming for total touchdowns, it was the Danger signal-caller who outgained Medlock in total yardage - winning that battle 162-138.
Fleming will get a chance to add to a solid start to the year when the Danger welcome in the Green Bay Blizzard on Sunday, March 11. The Blizzard suffered a 41-20 loss to the Iowa Barnstormers Sunday, allowing Iowa quarterback Drew Powell to throw for 206 yards and four touchdowns.
