Flash Sign Midfielder Elizabeth Eddy

ELMA, N.Y. (Thursday, May 21, 2015) - The Western New York Flash announced today the club has signed midfielder Elizabeth Eddy, whose rights were acquired following a November 2014 trade with Sky Blue FC. Per team and league policy, terms of the contract were not disclosed.
In addition, midfielder Jordan Angeli has been placed on the 45-day disabled list after sustaining a Grade 2 right ankle sprain in training last week.
Eddy, 23, was selected in the fourth round (No. 33 overall) of the 2014 NWSL College Draft by Sky Blue FC. A two-sport athlete at the University of Southern California, Eddy elected to forgo the 2014 NWSL season to continue her undergraduate degree and recently completed in her final season of NCAA Division I lacrosse at USC.
A native of Newport Beach, Calif., Eddy played for the LA Blues from 2010-2014. In her five seasons with the Blues, Eddy helped lead the club to two W-League titles (2013 and 2014) and an additional appearance in the title game in 2012. Last season, the versatile player notched two goals, including the game-winner, and an assist in the 2014 W-League Championship game. In the 2014 season, Eddy totaled eight points in just five games played.
In 2010, Eddy helped the U-20 U.S. Women's National Team win the CONCACAF Championship and qualify for the FIFA U-20 Women's World Cup. Two years prior, she was also a member of the U-17 U.S. Women's National Team that finished second at the 2008 FIFA U-17 Women's World Cup.
Eddy started her career at USC by being named to the Pac-10 All-Freshmen team after finishing second on the team in points (13) and goals (five). The next season, she was USC's top goal scorer and earned an All-Pac-12 Honorable Mention. In her senior campaign, Eddy again led the Trojans in goals scored, totaling six in 18 appearances.
