Flash Goalkeeper Sabrina D'Angelo Named to Canada's Olympic Qualifying Roster

ELMA, N.Y. - Western New York Flash goalkeeper Sabrina D'Angelo has been named to Canada's 20-player roster that will compete in the 2016 CONCACAF Women's Olympic Qualifying Championship in February.

D'Angelo, 22, was drafted by the Flash with the No. 21 overall pick in the 2015 NWSL College Draft. A native of Welland, Ontario, D'Angelo made seven starts for the Flash last year and picked up her first professional win on May 2 against the Boston Breakers.

Canada, currently ranked 11th in the world, will compete in Group B of the 2016 CONCACAF Women's Olympic Qualifying Championship, opening its Olympic qualification campaign against 89th ranked Guyana on February 11, before taking on 48th ranked Trinidad and Tobago on February 14, and 76th ranked Guatemala on February 16. Group A includes #1 ranked USA, Mexico (26th), and Costa Rica (34th) and Puerto Rico (108th).

Canada will play its entire tournament at BBVA Compass Stadium in Houston, which will also host Group B, the knockout round and final match.
