
Flame Players To Assist Salvation Army With Thanksgiving Meal Preparations

FORT MYERS, Fla., November 18 -- In an effort to assist the needy and reach out to the Southwest Florida community, the Florida Flame, presented by Century 21 Sunbelt Realty, will be on hand to aid the Salvation Army in its preparation of the Thanksgiving meal at the Red Shield Lodge in Fort Myers on Tuesday, November 22 from 1:00-3:00 p.m..
Four members of this year's Flame squad will participate, including Kendall Dartez, Ricky Shields, E.J. Rowland, and George Leach. The Red Shield Lodge is located at 2400 Edison Avenue in Fort Myers.
"The Florida Flame organization is looking forward to assisting those in need during the holiday season," said Amber Rish, Flame Director of Community Relations. "We had a very rewarding experience last year with this event, and our players and staff are again looking forward to providing their assistance this Tuesday."
The Florida Flame is the official D-League affiliate of the NBA's Miami Heat, Boston Celtics, Minnesota Timberwolves, and Orlando Magic. Showcasing the best young talent in professional basketball outside of the NBA, the Flame will play a 48-game schedule during the 2005-06 season with 23 home games at Germain Arena. Led by a group of local investors, the Flame is entering its second season of providing affordable, family entertainment to sports fans throughout Southwest Florida. Florida opens its 2005-06 D-League regular season schedule on Friday, November 25 at 7:00 p.m. against the Roanoke Dazzle at Germain Arena.
