FIVE Unveil Jerseys, Sign Serresse, Puddister & Skeens

(Greater Sudbury, ON) As the Sudbury FIVE get set to kick off their second season, they unveiled their 2019-20 home, away and third jersey Tuesday morning at Overtime Sports Bar and Grill as part of a media conference in front of local media, fans and sponsors.

In addition to unveiling the jerseys, FIVE Head Coach Logan Stutz also unveiled the first three players that will suit up for the squad this season. The FIVE have resigned locals Georges Serresse and Joey Puddister as well as signed newcomer Brady Skeens.

28-year-old, 6'5" forward Georges Serresse appeared in 42 games for the FIVE last season. "To have a professional basketball team in Sudbury and a player from Sudbury really is something special," said Stutz. "Georges represented his city very well last year and Sudbury should be so proud of him. He is a great basketball player and a great person. He has a great family and I am excited to have him back for us this year. All the young players in Sudbury should be looking to Georges and hoping one day they can do what he has done."

27-year-old North Bay native, Joey Puddister returns to the FIVE this season after having played 11 games for the squad last year. The 6' guard played at both Canadore College and Nipissing University in North Bay before coming to the FIVE last season. "Joey joined us later last season and did everything I asked of him as a coach," explained Stutz. "He came right in worked hard on the court and in the community. It was tough for him last year because we were very much established by the time he joined us. I am excited this year to have him from the beginning and to see him carve out his role for the year from day one."

Finally, 6'7" forward Brady Skeens joins the FIVE this season. The 24-yearold Kansas City, Missouri native attended Washburn University and shares the same hometown and alumnus status as Head Coach Logan Stutz. During his 4 years at Washburn was named Defensive Player of the Year for his conference 3 times all while scoring 1229 points on 68.8% shooting which is a school record for efficiency. "Brady is a young player with very high potential," stated Stutz. "He had an amazing college career and now it's time for him to transition that to the pro game. One of the Brady's biggest upsides is he a great person and coachable. When you add that to his ability on the court and I think he is going to surprise a lot of people in his rookie season."

The National Basketball League of Canada announced the 2019-20 schedule last week. The FIVE are excited to kick-off their second season and have a number of exciting events planned which will include the Wolves/Five Crossover event in February and Video Game themed game in March. The FIVE are also pleased to be able bring back the Fan Fest event in April. Keep checking thefive.ca as more details are announced in the coming weeks.

The FIVE will kick off their season at home on November 22nd when the defending NBLC champion Moncton Magic visit the Sudbury Community Arena. Single game tickets will go on sale October 28th at 10am at the Sudbury Arena Box Office and Online at thefive.ca.
