Sudbury Five News Release
(Greater Sudbury, ON) SW Sports and Entertainment Group, the parent company of the Sudbury FIVE, is pleased to announce a partnership with Cambrian College. Cambrian College will become the official practice facility of the Sudbury FIVE, with players and coaches having access to the gymnasium, fitness facilities, and lockers. In return, SW Sports and Entertainment will establish a new student scholarship through the Cambrian Foundation, offer employment and internship opportunities to Cambrian students, and provide the College with special group rates for game tickets and advertising opportunities.
"We are very excited to have entered into a partnership with the Sudbury FIVE and be the official practise location for the team," says Alison De Luisa, the Associate Vice-President of Student Development at Cambrian College. "This a great opportunity for our students. As a result of this partnership, our students will have access to a new scholarship, and increased job and learning opportunities with the SWSE family of teams and will help our students be more involved within the broader Sudbury community."
"The Cambrian Facilities are perfect for our team who will be playing out of the Sudbury Arena on 20 game nights this fall and winter, but need to practise everyday," said Logan Stutz, General Manager and Head Coach of the Sudbury Five. "We are really looking forward to the campus experience because our players are so comfortable in an environment similar to Cambrian. Working with everyone at the College has been rewarding and we look forward to exciting new opportunities together."
Last weekend the Sudbury FIVE participated in the National Basketball League Combine Draft acquiring the rights to 3 players in Windsor Ontario. Sudbury FIVE Basketball tickets are on sale now at www.greatersudbury.ca/tickets. The season schedule is expected to be published next week and will set the stage for future player signings following today's player announcements.
