Wilmington, DE - MLB.com has released its annual top 50 prospects in baseball list, and five former Wilmington Blue Rocks made the cut. Infielders Mike Moustakas (7) and Eric Hosmer (8) were in the top 10, while catcher Wil Myers (16) and southpaw pitchers Michael Montgomery (14) and John Lamb (34) all placed amongst the top 40.

The Royals organization had six prospects overall in the top 50. Right-handed hurler Jake Odorizzi checked in at No. 37. Odorizzi was acquired this offseason in a trade with Milwaukee for former Blue Crew starter Zack Greinke.

The Royals farm system tied the mlb.com top 50 prospects record shared by the 2004 Angels, the 2006 Dodgers and the '06 Diamondbacks. Kansas City nearly doubled up the next-highest total in baseball, as Tampa Bay had four prospects make the list, while six other organizations added three farmhands each to the Top 50.
