MANCHESTER, N.H. - The New Hampshire Fisher Cats, Double-A affiliate of the Toronto Blue Jays, announced that left-handed pitcher Sean Nolin has been promoted to the major leagues and will make his debut tonight when he takes the ball against the Baltimore Orioles at 7:07 PM. Nolin is the second Fisher Cat to advance directly to the major leagues this season, but he is the first to do so for the first time in his career.

Nolin, 24, was 2-0 in three starts with the Fisher Cats this season, and made consecutive starts of six shutout innings his last two times out. He leaves the Fisher Cats working on a 13.1 consecutive-inning scoreless streak, the longest for the Fisher Cats this season.

Overall, Nolin has won 13 consecutive decisions dating back to his final start of the 2011 season. He was 9-0 with Advanced-A Dunedin in 2012 before winning his only decision with New Hampshire after being called up to Double-A on August 20. For his career, Nolin owns a 16-6 record and 2.92 ERA over 55 games, 49 starts. He has also recorded 263 strikeouts in 246.1 innings pitched.

The Blue Jays' sixth-round selection in the 2010 draft out of San Jacinto College (TX), Nolin is currently rated as Toronto's 8th-best prospect, according MLB.com. He will become the first former Fisher Cat to make his major league debut this season, and 63rd in the team's ten seasons in Manchester. The Fisher Cats saw 10 players make their major league debut last year after a record 12 players pulled off the feat during the 2011 season.
