Fisher Cats Announce Scholar-Athlete Scholarship Winners

MANCHESTER, N.H. - The New Hampshire Fisher Cats, the Double-A affiliate of the Toronto Blue Jays, and the Fisher Cats Foundation are pleased to announce the 12 recipients of this year's Scholar-Athlete Scholarship.

With $2,500 college scholarships awarded to 10 students-athletes in New Hampshire and two in Massachusetts, the Fisher Cats Foundation has now awarded over $400,000 to graduating seniors since 2007.

Scholarship recipients were selected using criteria that includes academic achievement, athletic achievement, and active citizenship. The 12 student-athletes will be honored at Delta Dental Stadium on Thursday, August 4, before the Fisher Cats play the Richmond Flying Squirrels at 7:05 p.m.

"We are proud to present these tremendous students with this scholarship award," Fisher Cats President Mike Ramshaw said. "They have all showcased outstanding abilities on the field and in the classroom while displaying leadership and strong character in their community involvement. We wish them all the best of luck as they take the next step in their academic endeavors this fall."

Information on the 12 scholarship recipients can be found below:

Madeline Frank (Auburn, N.H. - Pinkerton Academy)

Intended Major: Environmental Geoscience at Boston College

Accolades: Madeline was captain of the varsity tennis and alpine race teams, while also playing varsity soccer. She was a member of several organizations including the Students for Environmental Club, the National Honor Society, and the Leadership Council of Athletes. Madeline also played club soccer for the F.C. Stars of New Hampshire, participated in sailboat racing at the Massabesic Yacht Club, and played piano at the Manchester Community Music School.

Celia Kulis (Wilmington, Mass. - Wilmington High School)

Intended Major: Psychology at the College of the Holy Cross

Accolades: Celia was an All-Conference athlete for field hockey and track and field. She was named Female Athlete of the Year in Wilmington in 2021. Celia was also a member of the DECA Business Club, the Local Heroes Club, and the National Honor Society. She did community service work for Letters of Love and Adopt a Family.

Jack Lucido (Georgetown, Mass. - Georgetown High School)

Intended Major: Psychology at Wesleyan University

Accolades: Jack was a three-sport varsity athlete and captain of the baseball, basketball, and football teams. He was named to the Boston Herald All-Scholastic Football Team and the MHSFCA All-Division Team. He participated in the Aleppo Shriner's All-Star Football Classic. Jack ranked 11th in his class in GPA while taking four AP classes and was a member of the National Honor Society.

Isabel Pentony (Newmarket, N.H. - Newmarket Junior Senior High School)

Intended Major: Conservation Biology at Middlebury College

Accolades: Isabel was a member of the varsity cross country, swim, and outdoor track teams. She was President of the Student Athlete Leadership Team, Class Treasurer for four years, and Club Treasurer of the National Honor Society. Isabel also volunteered for Newmarket Recreation Center's preschool sports programs.

Mitchell Berry (Belmont, N.H. - Belmont High School)

Intended Major: Engineering or Business at the University of New Hampshire, Colby-Sawyer College, or Bentley University

Accolades: Mitchell was captain of the varsity soccer team and was named to the All-State team. He was also a member of the boys alpine team and track and field team. Mitchell served as Class Treasurer, was a member of the National Honor Society, and participated in the Robotics and Spanish Clubs.

Lily Mooney (Bedford, N.H. - Bedford High School)

Intended Major: Political Science at Barnard College of Columbia University

Accolades: Lily was a member of the varsity girls cross-country team, the varsity Nordic skiing team, and the varsity track and field team. She was captain of the track and field team as a senior. Lily also participated in the Key Club, Medlife Club, DECA, and the National Honor Society.

Aiden Kelley (Manchester, N.H. - Manchester Central High School)

Intended Major: Economics at Colby College

Accolades: Aiden was a captain of the varsity football, hockey, and track teams. He was a four-year trombone player in the Central Band, student council president as a senior, and wrote for the student newspaper. Aiden also volunteered at the Boys and Girls Club where he helped start the Choose Love program and was a student ambassador for the Safe Sports Network.

Kathryn Craig (Manchester, N.H. - Manchester Central High School)

Intended Major: Economics

Accolades: Kathryn was the top female scoring runner for the varsity cross country team and was a captain as a senior. She was also a senior captain of the varsity swim team and was a finalist for the Little Green Award this past winter. Kathryn played French horn in the concert band and was the leader of the MCHS Student Led Ethical Discussions, serving as a proctor and taking part in discussions about ethical dilemmas and current events.

Ryan Divelbiss (Auburn, N.H. - Pinkerton Academy)

Intended Major: Business at Bentley University

Accolades: Ryan was a three-year captain of the varsity swimming team and member of the varsity soccer team as a senior. He was Class Treasurer and Officer at Large of the student council and a member of the National Honor Society. Ryan also worked as a soccer referee and an instructor at Highland Mountain Bike Park.

Caroline Camp (New London, N.H. - Kearsarge Regional High School)

Intended Major: Pre-Law at Connecticut College

Accolades: Caroline was captain of the varsity soccer, basketball, and lacrosse teams. She also co-founded the Students Working on Community Outreach Club and was a member of the National Honor Society, Principals Advisory Council, and Athletic Shared Leadership Council. Caroline also sang in the honors chorus as a senior.

Cailyn Benson (Bow, N.H. - Bow High School)

Intended Major: Genetics at North Carolina State University)

Accolades: Cailyn was captain of the tennis team and was also on the varsity soccer team. She served as Class President for three years and was President of the school's National Honor Society as a senior. Cailyn volunteered with the Food Pantry, the Youth Alpha Church Group, and was a summer camp counselor.

Meghan Fitzgerald (Dover, N.H. - Dover High School)

Intended Major: Nursing

Accolades: Meghan was captain of the varsity field hockey team and nominated for Seacoast Field Hockey Player of the Year in 2021. She was also on the varsity indoor and outdoor track and field team. Meghan was Vice President of the Athletic Leadership Council, a peer tutor, and a student ambassador, giving guided tours to incoming freshmen. She also founded Meg's Custom Cookies and Cakes, which she would bake and deliver to the Dover Children's Home and area hospitals.
