
First Arena general manager named

Philadelphia (June 21, 2004)- SMG announced today that Mark Barbuto has been named new General Manager of the SMG-managed First Arena, Elmira, New York. Mark most recently was the Director of Operations at the Mullins center in Amherst Massachusetts.
Mark Barbuto commented on his new position stating, "The First Arena is the centerpiece of the downtown revitalization effort. I look forward to continuing to build on what SMG has been able to accomplish."
SMG Regional Vice President, Bob McClintock added, "This facility & team belong to the community of Elmira. We at SMG envision a building where people & families can come together and enjoy all that the complex has to offer, Mark is one of SMG's high potential individuals that we are excited to see grow within the company and believe Mark has all the tools needed to bring this facility to the next level."
Mr. Barbuto continued, "I would like to see everyone take a minute and check out our summer programs at the Recreation Rink. It's great for the community to have such a wide variety of entertainment options during the summer months. Mr. Barbuto has also worked at the Rhode Island Convention Center and the New Haven Coliseum, both SMG managed facilities.
Mr. Barbuto has a Political Science Degree from the University of Iowa, Iowa City, IA. He and his wife are natives of upstate New York.
