Anderson, IN. The support keeps coming. Fire Chief Phil Rogers and the firemen and women of the headquarters' fire station in Anderson, Indiana pledged their support to the new ABA Anderson Champions professional basketball team. The firemen stated their excitement to see former Mr. Basketball, Maurice "Kojak" Fuller back on the court.
"We are planning to have firemen take on the policemen during the season if the policemen are up to the challenge," said Jesse Wilkerson, co-owner of the team. "This is going to be fun for the community."
The owners of the Anderson Champions are hosting a Booster Club event at the Anderson Country Club on November 4th at 12noon. The cost is $40 per person. Note: OurSports Central no longer actively covers the American Basketball Association (ABA) as a professional league due in part to its inability to publish and play a schedule and the transitory nature of many of its teams.
