Florida Firecats News Release

Estero, FL- Kicker Brandon Kornblue moved into the number one all time spot for most career PAT's in af2. Going into Saturday's game against the Louisville Fire, Kornblue and Tony Dodson were tied for first with 246 career PAT's. After successful on all five of his PAT attempts Saturday, Kornblue moved ahead of Dodson all time.

"It's always great to have something like that happen," Kornblue said, "but it's not something I really think about."

Kornblue's next milestone is passing James Thomas for most field goals made in a career. Coming into the 2005 season he had made 36 field goals, two back from Thomas, who played for Greensboro from 2000-2003. After hitting one already this season, Kornblue needs one more to tie the record and two more to be the leader.

"It'll be nice. I'm looking forward to kicking a few more field goals," Kornblue said.

Kornblue joins OS Magic Benton as one of the only 2 players to have spent part of all 5 years with the Firecats since the team joined the league in 2001. The University of Michigan graduate makes Southwest Florida his home and is a teacher at Golden Gate High School where he coaches the Titans kickers.

Brandon began the season ranked #1 for Most Points kicked (FG's & PAT's) in a career with 328.

The 2004 ArenaCup Champion Florida Firecats begin their long home stretch this week as they will play 6 of their next 7 games at Germain Arena. The Firecats next home game is Saturday May 28th against Amarillo. Tickets are available now! Call (239) 390-2287 today to reserve your seats!
