Estero, FL- The arenafootball2 (af2) Florida Firecats announced today that the team has partnered with Fox Sports 1200am WPTK to broadcast their games this season.
"We couldn't be happier," said Firecats Vice President Kimberlee Vallozzi. "We are looking forward to a long relationship with Fox. Their station has a winning lineup that will be a perfect fit for us."
2009 marks Florida's ninth season in the af2. The team has made the playoffs eight years in row, won four division championships, two conference championships and the 2004 ArenaCup championship.
"All of us at Fox Sports Radio 1200 are very excited to be part of one of the best local sports teams in Southwest Florida. The Firecats are a championship team and we are building a championship station," said Program Director Chad Rufer. "As we continue to take sports radio to a new level here in Southwest Florida with the addition of Jim Rome and Dan Patrick to our lineup, we are very excited to add the Firecats."
The game broadcasts will be streamed online at www.FoxSportsRadio1200.com.
Florida travels to Albany, Georgia this week to play division rival South Georgia on March 28th in a rematch of the season opener. Kickoff is scheduled for 7:30pm. The Firecats return home to Germain Arena on April 18th to play the Kentucky Horsemen.
