Firecats Clinch Playoff Berth

Estero, FL- The Florida Firecats clinched a spot in the post-season following their 69-38 win over the Oklahoma City Yard Dawgz. It will be Florida's 6th straight playoff berth, the 2nd longest streak in arenafootball2.

The win coupled with the Alabama Steeldogs 35-33 loss to the Tennessee Valley Vipers ensured that the Firecats, now 10-3 with 3 games left, will continue to play beyond the end of the af2 regular season.

Florida also got help from the Manchester Wolves who defeated the South Georgia Wildcats 80-57. Florida leads South Georgia by 1 game in loss column in the race for the South Division crown. The Firecats have won the South Division 3 years in a row.

Florida currently holds the #3 seed in the National Conference standings. 8 teams make the post-season, the top 3 seeds are reserved for division champions.

Florida hosts South Georgia this Saturday July 7th, the Firecats final home game of the regular season. South Georgia defeated Florida by 11 points earlier this year and currently holds the head-to-head tie breaker.
