BOSSIER CITY, LA (July 2, 2007)-The Bossier-Shreveport BattleWings will kick off their stretch run toward the 2007 af2 playoffs as they host the Arkansas Twisters Saturday, July 7, 2007.

"It's a once-in-a-lifetime chance," said General Manager Butch Bellah. "To have a game on 7-7-07; it was a promotional opportunity we couldn't pass up. On top of the significance of the date on the calendar, it's also our 7th home game in our 7th season-and the game starts at 7 o'clock."

The BattleWings will celebrate 7-7-07 by offering fans two tickets in the upper bowl of CenturyTel Center for just $7.00.

"Arkansas is one of only three teams to have beaten us this year and we want the atmosphere in the CenturyTel Center to be electric," added BattleWings' owner Dan Newman. "The fans have been wonderful this year-and we think we can set a few records Saturday night."

Currently averaging about 4,000 fans per game, the BattleWings are looking to break the all-time single game attendance record of 6,538 set in April, 2001-the team's first year in existence.

"This is the most important part of our schedule," said Head Coach Jon Norris. "After Arkansas, we host Rio Grande Valley and then go on the road to Wilkes-Barre/Scranton. We want to start it off right in front of a rowdy BattleWings' crowd."

The BattleWings, currently 9-3, can set a franchise record for most wins in a season (10) with a victory over the visiting Twisters.

"Coming off a tough road loss at Amarillo last week, we want to get behind this team and want the fans to be able to celebrate a milestone," added Bellah. "By offering two tickets for $7, everyone can come out to the CenturyTel Center Saturday night and get these guys energized for a playoff run."
