Firebirds Offer Game Tickets for All Armed Services Personnel

INDIANAPOLIS - To show support for the men and women serving in our armed forces at home and overseas, the Indiana Firebirds of the Arena Football League are offering up to four complimentary tickets to all members of the US Military and their families for the remainder of the season. Any available five or ten dollar tickets may be obtained with any valid Military identification at the Conseco Fieldhouse Box Office.
"When our country is at war, we will do anything to help support the military and their families," said Firebirds general manager Joe Hennessy. "Hopefully by coming to our games, it will work as a diversion and allow them to have fun during a stressful time in their lives."
All Arena Football League teams will also take part in offering special discounts for all armed forces personnel and their families. The AFL is proud to have the U.S. Army as one of its principle sponsors, as well as the U.S. Navy, Air Force and Marines as advertisers on its NBC broadcasts every Sunday afternoon.
"This is a challenging time for our country and the world and we are thankful for the men and women of our armed forces, said AFL Commissioner David Baker. "We are pleased to be able to offer this promotion, which in some small way, may provide a measure of support for the families of our servicemen and women during an otherwise stressful time."
The Firebirds are back in action on Sunday afternoon when they welcome the Tampa Bay Storm into Conseco Fieldhouse for a meeting of two of the oldest teams in the Arena Football League. Kickoff is slated for 12:00 noon with gates scheduled to open at 10:30am. The game can be heard on the Firebirds' Radio Network, which includes ESPN Radio 950 AM, WPZZ 95.9 FM "The Point", ESPN Radio 1130 (Brazil), and ESPN Radio 1300 (Terre Haute).
