FireAntz Name Olauson Head Coach

[Fayetteville, NC]- The Fayetteville FireAntz of the Southern Professional Hockey League (SPHL) announced today that they have named Emery Olauson as their new Head Coach. Sean Edwards will remain the FireAntz' Assistant Coach. Per club policy, terms of the deal were not disclosed.

Olauson, 32, hails from Canmore, Alberta, and takes the reins of a FireAntz club who sit at 14-18-3 and in contention for a playoff spot in the SPHL. He was, most recently, the Assistant Coach of the Flin Flon Bombers of the Saskatchewan Junior Hockey League (SJHL) in 2013-14.

Prior to this season, Olauson had a very successful nine-year Minor League Hockey career. He also played two seasons with the FireAntz from 2008-10. His most successful season came in 2011-12 with the Knoxville Ice Bears where he tallied 44 goals, 44 assists and 88 points in just 56 games played.

"We're very happy to have Emery coming on board." President/ General Manager Kevin MacNaught said, "I've known Emery for quite some time and feel he will make a tremendous Head Coach for our hockey club."

Olauson will be arriving in Fayetteville on Thursday, February 6th, in time for the next FireAntz home game on Friday, February 7th.

The next FireAntz home games are Friday, February 7th and Saturday, February 8th. Friday, the 7th is Wiener Dog Race Night, presented by Systel and FAPS. Saturday, February 8th is Folds of Honor- Military Appreciation Night AND Race Night.
