Louisville Fire News Release
The Louisville Fire Arena Football team enjoyed last week's league wide bye to get refreshed and ready to make a push for the playoffs. The Fire (7-5) will return to action on Saturday night in Freedom Hall at 7:30 P.M. against the San Diego Riptide (4-8) with a playoff bid on the line. If the Fire defeats San Diego they will clinch a bid in the playoffs for the second straight season.
The Fire defense knows they have a tough task in front of them Saturday night, facing an offense that averages 52.2 points a game and features a high powered passing attack. However the Fire is averaging 52.8 points a game on offense and leads the league in total offense (294.6 yards a game) and passing offense (281.3 yards a game).
"The bye week was important because we had a few guys who needed the week to rest some minor injuries," said Fire Head Coach Tommy Johnson. "We feel we are healthy now and if we go out on Saturday and get the job done we will be in playoffs."
Tickets are still available for Saturday's game and can be purchased by visiting www.ticketmaster.com, visiting the Freedom Hall box office, or calling (502) 368-0009. Kick-off is set for 7:30 and the first 500 fans will receive a Fire mini-football.
