Fire fans support Peter Wilt; S8C statement on the week's action by AEG

Chicago Fire FC News Release
CHICAGO â Earlier this week, Anschutz Entertainment Group (AEG), the owners of the Chicago Fire Soccer Club replaced Peter Wilt as president of the club. Many Fire fans, including the Section 8 Chicago Independent Supporters' Association, feel strongly that this is a terrible decision and a huge mistake. Mr. Wilt is a significant part of why Fire fans are so passionate about this club, both indirectly and directly. His record with the Fire includes four championships in seven title games, managing a difficult temporary move to and from Naperville, and securing a new publicly funded stadium in Bridgeview. This should be grounds for promotion, not dismissal.
Section 8 will be both showing their disapproval of this decision and their support for Mr. Wilt during this Saturday's match by:
i. Wearing black instead of the usual red ii. Not taking their seats until the 9th minute of the game, sitting out 8 minutes iii. Fervently supporting the Fire from that point forward
All fans will be encouraged to join in this effort as they are able to do so whether that is at Saturday's match against the San Jose Earthquakes (7.30pm at Soldier Field); Sunday's reserve match (10.30am at UIC); or future Fire matches. For information on future coordinated activities to support Peter Wilt and show disapproval of the action by Anschutz Entertainment Group, fans of the Fire and others supporting Mr. Wilt are encouraged to visit section8chicago.com, where all can sign up to help and to be counted.
SECTION 8 CHICAGO (S8C) is the Independent Supporters' Association for the Chicago Fire. Created in 2004 the vision of Section 8 Chicago is to unite all Chicago Fire fans, to create a dominant in-stadium force unseen in any American team sport and to establish a home-field advantage whenever the Chicago Fire play. S8C works to coordinate between the various supporters' clubs, independent fans, and the Chicago Fire organization. Section 8 Chicago is not officially affiliated in any way with the Chicago Fire Soccer Club, Anschutz Entertainment Group, or Major League Soccer.
