August 25, 2015 - United Soccer League Championship (USL)
Saint Louis FC News Release
ST. LOUIS - Saint Louis FC defender Sam Fink has been named to the USL Team of the Week for the second time this season after scoring the equalizer in last week's 3-2 win over the Charleston Battery.
The Edwardsville, Ill., native played a vital role in Saint Louis FC rallying from a two-goal deficit to earn all three points last Thursday at World Wide Technology Soccer Park.
With STL FC trailing 2-1 in the 83rd minute, Fink rose to head home a cross from Patrick Doody. It was Fink's third goal of the season, with all three of his goals coming at home off headers.
The goal set up a dramatic finish, with Aaron Horton scoring the game-winning goal in stoppage time to lift Saint Louis FC to the win over Charleston.
Fink was also named to the USL Team of the Week on May 12th after scoring the game-winner in STL FC's 1-0 win over Wilmington Hammerheads FC. He is the first Saint Louis player to earn Team of the Week honors twice this season.
Saint Louis FC will be back in action on Sunday when it travels to face the Rochester Rhinos. Kickoff is scheduled for 3:05 PM CT at Sahlen's Stadium.
