Richmond Roosters News Release
Richmond, Indiana - The improvement project at McBride Stadium is officially underway. Earlier this week, Rhinehart's Lawn Care Landscaping and Nursery began renovation of the playing surface at McBride Stadium. It is part of a project that will include a new irrigation system and an entirely new field. The project will cost approximately $100,000 for the field work and between $12,000 and $15,000 for additions to the stadium. Concrete walkways are scheduled to be poured at the entrance to the stadium and in place of existing grass on the concourse area.
"Lots of time and effort has gone into these plans and it is great to see huge improvement coming" said Roosters Team President Allen Brady during a May 14th press conference. The project was originally expected to begin in September, but weather and paperwork delays pushed the start date into November. The project is expected to be completed before the spring. McBride Stadium serves as the home for Richmond High School and Earlham College, in addition to the Roosters.
In 2005, the Richmond Roosters will begin their 11th season in the twelve team, independent Frontier League. The Roosters play 96 game schedule between May and September.
