VANCOUVER, BC - Vancouver Whitecaps FC announced on Thursday that fewer than 1,000 tickets remain for the next home match against Portland Timbers on Saturday, August 30. Kickoff for this rivalry match at BC Place is set for 7:30 p.m. PT - TV: TSN2, RADIO: TEAM 1410, teamradio.ca, MOBILE: bell.ca/mobiletv, ONLINE: TSN GO .
Fans are encouraged to secure their tickets early as nine of the club's 11 MLS home matches this season have sold out. 5-Packs also remain available, and with only six home matches remaining, this provides a great opportunity to be at BC Place throughout the "ËCaps push for the playoffs. PLAYOFF UPDATE
Whitecaps FC (7W-4L-12D) currently sit in the fifth and final playoff position in the Western Conference, two points ahead of the sixth place Timbers (7W-7L-10D) and four points back of their opponents this weekend, LA Galaxy (10W-5L-7D). CASCADIA CUP UPDATE
The August 30 match could see Whitecaps FC (CC: 2W-0L-1D) playing for the right to retain their Cascadia Cup title - a trophy created by the supporters groups of Portland Timbers, Seattle Sounders FC, and Vancouver Whitecaps FC to crown the best team in the Pacific Northwest. Should Portland (CC: 0W-2L-1D) win or draw at home versus Seattle (CC: 1W-1L-2D) this coming Sunday, August 24, Vancouver will be able to claim the Cascadia Cup with a win against the Timbers at home on August 30.
