Indiana Fever News Release
INDIANAPOLIS - Despite its loss the Sacramento Monarchs on Saturday, the Indiana Fever clinched the first regular season conference title in franchise history when the second-place Atlanta Dream fell in double-overtime at Seattle late last night. By clinching the top seed in the WNBA's Eastern Conference, Indiana has secured homecourt advantage throughout the first two rounds of the WNBA Playoffs.
Indiana will open its best-of-three game Eastern Conference Semifinal series on Sept. 16 or 17, on the road. The Fever will host Game 2 of the series, Sept. 18 or 19, and if necessary, Game 3, Sept. 20 or 21. Likewise, if Indiana advances past the first round, the Fever would host the deciding Games 2 and 3 of the best-of-three game Eastern Conference Finals. Eastern Conference Finals dates are Sept. 23, 25 and 26. WNBA Finals games begin Tuesday, Sept. 29, launching a best-of-five game series between playoff champions from the East and West.
Tickets for the Eastern Conference Semifinals are on sale now at FeverBasketball.com, the Conseco Fieldhouse Box Office, all Ticketmaster outlets or by calling (317) 239-5151. Indiana's first home playoff game will be a Lucas Oil Family Night presented by The Indianapolis Star. With each ticket purchased, fans will receive a voucher redeemable for a free hot dog, chips, a soft drink and a T-shirt. A minimum purchase of four game tickets is required, beginning at $15 per seat.
Guaranteed the East's top seed for the first time in franchise history, the Fever remains in the hunt for homecourt advantage throughout the duration of the WNBA Playoffs. At 20-8, Indiana currently leads Western Conference leader Phoenix who is 20-9. Coincidentally, the Fever hosts the Mercury next Wednesday, Sept. 2, in what has been billed as a possible preview of the WNBA Finals. Indiana beat Phoenix 90-83, in Arizona, on Aug. 8.
