
Fernando Derveld to coach DDL FC Women's team

The DDL FC Women's team will be coached this season by former professional player Fernando Derveld from the Netherlands. He will be assisted by Sid van Druenen. The team started it's first practice yesterday.
Derveld is 35 years old and brings a lot of international playing experience to the club. He was in the youth academy of PSV Eindhoven and played professionally for 15 years in the Premier League of the Netherlands (Willem II and Heerenveen), Denmark (Odense BK and Esjberg FB) and in the First Division of the Netherlands (HFC Haarlem and FC Dordrecht) and England (Norwich City FC and West Bromwich Albion FC). He played 307 games and scored 10 goals.
The DDL FC team consists of several local players and plays it's first League game May 26 away against the Virginia Beach Piranha's and opening at home against DC United May 31st at 7.30pm.
