Penn FC News Release
On Friday, the Harrisburg City Islanders (1-1-1) head to Virginia for a 7 p.m. match this Saturday, May 12, against the Richmond Kickers (1-2-2). Following a 2-1 loss in their home opener to the Charlotte Eagles (2-5-1), the City Islanders look to bounce back this weekend against Richmond. The Kickers are coming off a 1-1 draw on May 5 against the Dayton Dutch Lions FC.
Last Season, the City Islanders faced Richmond twice, fighting to a 1-1 tie on May 14, and notching a 1-0 victory on June 17. Saturday's match will be the first of three meetings this season between the two teams.
In last Friday's home opener, the City Islanders faced both the weather and a spry Eagles squad in a match that saw the action pick up after a one hour 22 minute lightning delay. In wet, almost-tropical conditions, the City Islanders - and a crowd of 1,123 - saw a one goal lead eclipsed in a span of seven minutes.
