FC Edmonton News Release

EDMONTON, AB (FC Edmonton will return to regular North American Soccer League (NASL) season action when they take on the San Antonio Scorpions on Saturday, May 17th at 6:30 p.m. MT in their third road-match in seven days.

The Eddies are coming off the first win of their NASL spring campaign against the Indy Eleven last Saturday. FCE hopes the momentum from their 2-1 regular season victory will push them to string some wins together on the road when they pay a visit to San Antonio on Saturday night. The Eddies will certainly be looking for redemption after a heartbreaking last minute knock-out of the Amway Canadian Championship on Wednesday evening against the Montreal Impact.

"It will be a difficult game for us there, in the heat and it will also be our eighth game in four weeks," said FC Edmonton head coach Colin Miller. "San Antonio have had some good results, but we managed our first road result last weekend and hopefully we can carry that over."

This match will continue what has been a busy Spring Season for the Eddies. With regular NASL games and a busy Amway Canadian Championship schedule, the team has played eight games in all competitions in the last three weeks. All of this playing time has resulted in a two-match unbeaten streak between both competitions and the club's first three victories of the season.

San Antonio will also look to capitalize on some momentum as they too earned three points in their last match after a decisive 3-0 win over the Carolina RailHawks last Saturday. With the win, the Scorpions sit in fourth place with three wins and two losses on the season.

The meeting will be the first between the two clubs this season. Their last game dates back to the 2013 NASL fall campaign which saw San Antonio earn a 1-0 victory over the Eddies at Toyota Field.

FC Edmonton fans can watch the Eddies match at the Pint Downtown, the official location for FC Edmonton away-match viewing parties. Saturday's match kicks off at 6:30 p.m. MT.
