FC Tulsa News Release

TULSA - With no soccer currently being played, the USL has partnered with ESPN to broadcast a 32-team Rocket League World Cup-style tournament, and FC Tulsa was ready to go in its first group stage match with a 2-0 (8-2, 10-0) victory over Memphis 901 FC to take all three points.

After giving up the first goal in Game 1, FC Tulsa never trailed again, scoring 18 of the next 19 goals over the two games, sweeping the best-of-3 series.

Game 1 - FC Tulsa 8-2 Memphis 901 FC

Game 2 - FC Tulsa 10-0 Memphis 901 FC

QUICK BOUNCE BACK

FC Tulsa got off to a slow start, giving up the first goal of the match to Memphis, but quickly recovered, scoring the next seven goals on its way to a 8-2 Game 1 victory.

CLEAN SHEET IN GAME 2

There was no mercy shown to Memphis in Game 2 as FC Tulsa, feeling the confidence after Game 1, ran roughshod to a 10-0 win, giving them a boost in the important "goal differential" category.

GROUP 8 STANDINGS

FC Tulsa took all 3 points from the win and sits in a tie atop Group 8 with Birmingham Legion FC, its next opponent, after Birmingham beat Forward Madison FC 2-0 earlier on Friday. FC Tulsa will play Birmingham on Tuesday in a match that will likely determine the Group 8 winner. The top two teams from Group 8 will advance to the knockout round.
