FC Tulsa Plays to Draw in Preseason Scrimmage against Oral Roberts University
February 19, 2020 - United Soccer League Championship (USL)
FC Tulsa News Release
A second half equalizer from Tulsa's own Ciaran Winters kept FC Tulsa unbeaten in preseason as it drew local college side Oral Roberts 1-1 on Wednesday night at Holland Hall School. Winters goal, 15 minutes into the second half, was his first as professional after signing an Academy contract with his hometown club this offseason.
The midweek match provided a chance for FC Tulsa head coach Michael Nsien to rest or limit the minutes of many of his first choice players while giving trialists and reserves an opportunity to make their mark.
After conceding in the 11' minute, Tulsa's defense and keeping rose to the occasion to keep it a one-goal match. Keeper Bryan Byars made numerous saves as FC Tulsa's offense pushed for the equalizer and then the match-winner.
Attached is a brief postmatch quotesheet featuring quotes from Nsien, Byars and Winters.
