FC Tulsa Falls 3-0 to Houston Dynamo FC in First Preseason Match

March 24, 2021 - United Soccer League Championship (USL)
FC Tulsa News Release

TULSA - It was a disappointing preseason debut for FC Tulsa as it fell to MLS' Houston Dynamo FC 3-0 at Ellis Field in College Station, Texas on Wednesday afternoon. Two hard luck first half goals and a third against the run of play early in the second half were more than enough for Houston to slide past Tulsa in a steady rain.

Lots of faces, including some new ones, saw action on Wednesday. Among them were local academy signing Tony Mota and recent local goalkeeper signing Austin Wormell, who made their preseason debuts.

GOALS

15' HOU - Maximiliano Urruti

34' HOU - Tyler Pasher

57' HOU - Matías Vera

PRESEASON DEBUTS

Many of the offseason additions for FC Tulsa made their preseason debuts in the match on Wednesday. Goalkeeper Daniel Gagliardi earned the start in net while defender Mo Jadama, midfielder Lucas Coutinho and forward Jerome Kiesewetter also appeared in the XI. Defender Leo Folla joined the fray as a 70' minute sub to make his preseason debut as well. Keeper Austin Wormell and midfielder Tony Mota came on in the 74' minute.

WORLD CUP QUALIFYING ABSENCES

Neither Jorge Corrales nor Joaquín Rivas was available for FC Tulsa as both are competing for their national teams this week in World Cup qualifying. Corrales will start for Cuba tonight against Guatemala at 7 p.m. while Rivas and El Salvador will play Thursday against Grenada at 9:25 p.m.

UP NEXT

FC Tulsa will be right back at it tomorrow afternoon in Frisco, Texas against North Texas SC of ULS League One. Kickoff is scheduled for 3 p.m. CT.
