FC Edmonton's standout season continues to garner attention, with goalkeeper Matt VanOekel and captain Albert Watson announced Tuesday as North American Soccer League (NASL) Golden Ball (MVP) candidates. Fans can help decide on the winner by casting their vote HERE.

Matt VanOekel

VanOekel's last match versus Tampa Bay Rowdies earned him his 15th clean sheet of the 2016 season and set a modern-era NASL record for shutouts in a season. The six-foot-four 'keeper has been lights out in his second year in Edmonton and a major factor in what is arguably the Eddies' most successful season to date.
