EDMONTON, AB - FC Edmonton announced, June 4, the loan of defender Mallan Roberts to North American Soccer League (NASL) club Ottawa Fury FC. As per club policy, terms of the deal were not disclosed.

Roberts, 23, signed with the Eddies' First Team in 2013 following a stint in FC Edmonton's Academy program. Last season, the defender collected 1,890 minutes in 21 NASL appearances. The six-foot-two defender made his senior team debut for Canada in 2015 in a World Cup Qualifier match versus Dominica.

"Every player wants to play," FC Edmonton head coach Colin Miller said. "At this moment in time, Mallan is not in our plans. It is best for the young lad for his career to move forward, that he gets regular football minutes and he is not guaranteed that here in Edmonton. In Mallan's case, he now needs to try and get regular games at another club and this gives him an opportunity to do that."

FC Edmonton returns to Clarke Field for their Spring Season finale versus Fort Lauderdale Strikers, June 12 at 2:00 p.m. For more tickets and more information, please click HERE, call 780.700.2600 or visit www.fcedmonton.com.
