FC Cincinnati News Release
CINCINNATI, OH --- FC Cincinnati enjoyed its largest sales day in the club's short history and are officially announcing a sellout of the U.S. Open Cup semifinal match against New York Red Bulls scheduled for Aug. 15 at Nippert Stadium.
"To sell out on the first day of our public sale is tremendous and we are confirming that we do not have any seats available," said FCC President and General Manager Jeff Berding. "Our sales team sold 16,000 tickets in roughly seven hours and we are thrilled that our fans are excited about our match-up against New York Red Bulls. The atmosphere at Nippert Stadium is going to be spectacular."
"I want to thank our fans for their understanding and patience when our system went down. Despite all the preparatory measures we took with Glitnir, the demand was simply too much for the system. For those who are still trying to purchase a ticket for the match, I encourage you to sign on with us as a season ticket holder to receive priority in the future."
Season ticket holders are given priority for Cup matches, international friendlies and playoff games to secure their current seats as well as to order additional seats. At 1:00 p.m. yesterday, FCC opened its remaining inventory to the public. The Glitnir ticketing system went down shortly at that time and the sales was unable to facilitate any sales. Shortly after 7:00 p.m. online sales resumed until this morning.
