Fayetteville Patriots News Release

GREENVILLE, S.C. (November 26, 2002) - Devin Brown, the Fayetteville Patriots first-round draft selection and the second overall pick in the 2002 National Basketball Development League Draft, has been reassigned to the Patriots roster according to an announcement today by NBDL Executive Director Karl Hicks. Fayetteville also waived guard Richie Dalmau.

Just two days after being drafted by the Patriots, Brown was called up to the San Antonio Spurs when Speedy Claxton was injured. The 6-foot-5, 235-pound guard played in seven games for the Spurs, averaging 1.7 points and 1.0 rebound per game. As a senior at Texas-San Antonio in 2001-02, he averaged 18.3 points and finished as the school's all-time leading scorer with 1,922 career points.

Dalmau played in three games before being released by the Patriots, averaging 0.7 points and 0.7 rebounds per game.

Brown is scheduled to arrive in Fayetteville Friday prior to the Patriots' home game against the Roanoke Dazzle. He will wear jersey number 14.
