
Fayetteville Patriots Aquire Britton Johnsen

GREENVILLE, S.C., November 26 â The Fayetteville Patriots of the National Basketball Development League have acquired forward Britton Johnsen, according to an announcement today by NBDL Director of Basketball Operations Chris Alpert and Fayetteville Head Coach Jeff Capel. The Patriots also waived forward Sam Clancy.
Johnsen, at 6-10 and 210 pounds, began the season with the Orlando Magic after making the squad as a free agent invitee to training camp. He played in four games, starting three, before being waived by the Magic Nov. 16. He averaged 14.5 minutes, 2.8 points and 1.0 rebounds per game with Orlando. The Mountain West Conference Player of the year while at Utah, Johnsen played in 109 games for the Utes, averaging 9.6 points, 5.2 rebounds and 1.4 assists.
Clancy played 15 minutes in the Patriots season-opening loss to Roanoke Nov. 22, scoring seven points and grabbing one rebound.
Johnsen will wear jersey #13 for the Patriots and is expected to be in uniform when Fayetteville (0-1) plays host to the Charleston Lowgators (0-0) Saturday at the Crown Coliseum. Tipoff is set for 7:30 p.m. ET.
