
Fayetteville acquires Tang Hamilton

GREENVILLE, S.C., November 26 â The Fayetteville Patriots have acquired forward Tang Hamilton from the NBA's National Development League available player pool, according to an announcement today by NBDL director of basketball operations Chris Alpert and Patriots head coach Mike Brown.
Fayetteville waived center Ruben Boumtje Boumtje while he recovers from an injury. Boumtje Boumtje has played in two games (two starts) for the Patriots, averaging 2.0 points and 4.0 rebounds per game.
Hamilton, a 6-8, 200-pound Mississippi State (â01) product, returns to the NBDL where he played for the Columbus Riverdragons late in the 2001-02 season and for the entire 2002-03 season. Hamilton's career NBDL stats include 14.5 points and 8.4 rebounds over 59 games.
An All-NBDL first-team selection in 2002-03, Hamilton also set the NBDL career and single-season record for double-doubles with 25 that season. He was in training camp with the Miami Heat this season and played nine games for the Heat during the 2001-02 season, averaging 2.2 points and 2.0 rebounds. He played internationally in 2003-04.
Hamilton is expected to join the Patriots in time to suit up for Fayetteville's home game against Roanoke tonight at the Crown Coliseum. He will wear jersey #8.
