Fayetteville acquires George Williams

GREENVILLE, S.C., December 9 – The Fayetteville Patriots of the NBA's National Basketball Development League have acquired forward George Williams and released forward Steve Ross, according to an announcement today by NBDL director of basketball operations Chris Alpert and Patriots head coach Mike Brown.

Williams, 6-8 and 220-pounds, is an NBDL veteran, having played the last two seasons and the early part of the current campaign with the Roanoke Dazzle. He averaged 32.5 minutes, 11.8 points and 5.0 rebounds in four games (four starts) before being waived by the Dazzle on November 29. The Houston ('02) product has played in 97 games throughout his NBDL career, averaging 23.6 minutes, 8.1 points and 4.1 rebounds.

Ross played in eight games for Fayetteville, averaging 16.8 minutes, 5.4 points and 2.3 rebounds.

Williams is expected to be in uniform when the Patriots travel to Roanoke Saturday.
